4-H encourages diverse groups of youth to develop their unique skills and talents to the fullest potential. Young people participate in 4-H through clubs, special interest groups, after-school programs, camps and many other activities. “Learning by doing” through hands on activities and community involvement empowers 4-H’ers to develop and strengthen life skills.

Youth participate in 4-H through school 4-H clubs, community clubs, special interest groups, after-school programs, camps and many other activities. Although there are many common activities, each county in Tennessee has its own unique programs and areas of emphasis.

4-H is a unique educational program for students in elementary through high school. It encourages diverse groups of youth to develop their skills and talents to the fullest. As 4-H’ers, youth actively participate in activities, events and projects that develop and strengthen life skills. 4-H is open to everyone. Each county has exciting and fun programs!

Are you a 4-H’er that loves shooting sports and the great outdoors? If so then 4-H Target Smart Camp is just for you! At Target Smart Camp 4-H’ers will learn about firearm safety, responsibility, life skills, and a love for the outdoors. All 4-H’ers will get the opportunity to participate in all shooting sports disciplines, make new friends, and experience adventure.

Are you a 4-H’er that loves being creative? Maybe you have always wanted to learn how to sew your own clothes or make a quilt. While you are at Creative Design Camp you will learn more about 4-H Creative Arts & Design Project, attend a formal event at Stanley Stables, tour Carson Newman Campus, Connect & meet new friends during an ice cream social, pizza party & fun activities, Participate in the 4-H FCS Skill-a-thon judging competition, participate in a Fashion Show or Quilt Parade depending on which track you decide to take part in.

There are 2 different tracks you can choose from for Creative Design Camp: Quilt Track or Fashion Track.

The Quilt Track consist of:

  • Making a lap size quilt
  • Learn piecing, pressing, trimming, boards, machine quilting, and binding techniques
  • Hand quilting
  • Quilt History
  • Labeling & caring for quilts
  • Participate in Quilt of Valor service project

The Fashion Track consist of:

  • Sewing a Bucket Hat
  • learn to etch a glass &sublimate a T-shirt
  • make marble clay earrings and necklace
  • Bake some tasty treats
  • Participate in a Fashion Show
  • Learn about Entrepreneurship

Who? 6th(must have completed 6th grade)-12th Grade 4-H’ers

Summer time is not summer without 4-H camp!!! One of the most enjoyable and rewarding 4-H programs is summer camp. Junior 4-H camp is a 5 day summer camp for 4th through 6th grade Morgan County 4-H members. The camp provides hands on learning plus fun adventures, recreations, and new friendships. Campers are well supervised by 4-H agents, camp counselors, volunteers and camp staff.

Are you a 4-H’er that loves all things electric? At Electric Camp you will explore the world of energy, electricity, energy conservation, electrical safety, and other basic sciences in fun-filled , “hands-on” learning activities. This year’s learning activities include:

  • Electric Vehicles
  • Electrical Safety

Who? 4-H’ers in 6th, 7th and 8th grades

If you are a 4-H’er in 7th or 8th grade looking for a fun filled summer camp then Junior High 4-H camp is for you. On Tuesday evening spend a night at the Ball Park watching a minor league baseball game, the Greenville, Fly Boys. Choose from 1 of 5 different adventures. Each 4-H’er will take part in 1 of 6 service projects. So what will be happening at Junior High 4-H Camp?
